Kyoto, a city rich in nature yet harsh, has long been home to homes imbued with wisdom and ingenuity. This window depicts a new Kyoto with a cliff-hanging house and a boathouse floating on the sea.

<House in the Sky>
The house floats from a rocky mountain rising above the sea of ​​clouds, reaching out as if to grasp the moon. The large rocky mountain looks almost like a horse, or like a large horse has solidified into the rocky mountain. In this house in the sky, Hermès items are made by mixing stardust and rock fragments, while slowly making wishes to the moon. A flying boat then comes to pick them up and transports them to the city of Kyoto beneath the clouds.

<House at the Sea>
The folded roll of fabric sways like waves, representing the sea. The house floats on the calm, soft water. In Kyoto, patterns have long been used to express wishes and prayers. The "seigaiha" (waves) pattern painted on the water's surface on the top tier symbolizes a peaceful life and resonates with the quiet rippling of the sea. The "gourd" pattern on the second tier represents prosperous business and future prosperity. The "yukiwa" (snow rings) pattern on the third tier represents a wish for a good harvest and represents the abundance of Kyoto's sea and forests.

A small boat floats beneath the house, and further down, fish and various sea creatures live. At this beach hut, new items are made from shells and seaweed collected along with the waves, which are filled with feelings.

And today is the Gion Festival. The beach huts will head out onto the Kamo River, hanging lanterns and equipped with wheels and propellers.
