頁をめくる度に、動きと驚きと楽しさの詰まった飛び出す絵本。エルメス麻布台ヒルズ店夏のウィンドウでは、飛び出す絵本の機構を用いてダイナミックに世界を描写しようと試みました。平面に描かれたDrawingが動きを纏って立体化し、生き生きとした色鮮やかなストーリーが展開していきます。二次元と三次元の間を行き来するダイナミズムは観る人の視線を引き付け、描かれる世界の隅々まで引き込んでいきます。

やわらかな風がそよぐ青い空に、黄色い太陽が昇り、氷の塊から噴き出された香水が雲となって漂っています。その中を大きな耳を持ったポットくんが飛んできて、ミルクを山の頂へと注ぎ始めました。高い山の上でそれは雪となり、その雪解け水が小川や滝となって湖が生まれ、ゾウの家族のお気に入りの場所となりました。

ぱたぱたと飛んで旅するポットくんは、次に黄色い街へ舞い降りました。本のように積み上がった街にまたミルクを注ぎ込むと、街は水と緑で溢れ、止まっていた時計台の針が動き始めました。

ポットくんが旅をしながら世界中で注ぎ続けたミルクは徐々に大きなうねりとなって集まり、海が作られます。白い鳥たちに誘われて海へ出ていくと、そこはたくさんの海の生き物たちが生き生きと暮らす青の世界です。深海で飛ぶように泳ぐエイや風船のように漂うハリセンボン、8本の手と脚を使って上手に波に乗るタコの兄弟など世界は色鮮やかでとても自由です。潮を吹いて海を綺麗にする大きなクジラも海の中で何か宝物を見つけたようです。

小窓では、水と緑で溢れた地球の周りを黄色い月や光り輝く衛星がくるくる周り、さらに水と緑が編み込まれた森ではリスやウマが楽しくお散歩しています。

そして最後はこの生き生きとした旅の絵本の締めくくりです。色鮮やかな世界が絵本の中にぎゅっと詰まって、今見てきたこの土地のこの建物のこのウィンドウにまた戻ってきました。こうして絵本の中に描かれ、飛び出したダイナミックな世界が、観た人の心の中に飛び込み、更に豊かなストーリーとして描かれ続けていくことを期待しています。

A pop-up book is a world filled with movement, surprise, and delight, unfolding with every turn of the page. For the summer window displays at Hermès Azabudai Hills, we sought to bring a dynamic world to life through the mechanisms of a pop-up book. Drawings on a flat surface take on movement and rise into three-dimensional forms, unfolding into vivid, colorful stories full of life. This dynamism, moving back and forth between two and three dimensions, captures the viewer's gaze and draws them into every corner of the world being depicted.

Beneath a blue sky stirred by a gentle breeze, a yellow sun rises, while perfume bursting from a block of ice drifts through the air as clouds. Through this sky flies Little Pot, a character with large ears, who begins pouring milk onto the summit of a mountain. High above, the milk turns into snow, and as it melts, streams and waterfalls flow down to form a lake—a favorite gathering place for a family of elephants.

Fluttering through the air on his journey, Little Pot next descends upon a yellow city. As he pours milk once again over the city, whose buildings are stacked like books, water and greenery begin to overflow through its streets, and the hands of a clock tower, long at a standstill, begin to move.

As Little Pot continues his journey, pouring milk across the world, the streams gradually gather into great swirling currents, giving birth to an ocean. Guided by white birds, he ventures out to sea, entering a blue world teeming with marine life. Rays glide through the deep sea as though flying, porcupinefish drift like balloons, and a pair of octopus siblings skillfully ride the waves using their eight arms. This underwater world is brilliantly colorful and wonderfully free. A great whale, whose spout cleanses the sea, seems to have discovered a hidden treasure beneath the waves.

In the smaller windows, a yellow moon and shining satellites revolve around an Earth overflowing with water and greenery. Meanwhile, in a forest woven together with water and lush vegetation, squirrels and horses happily wander along.

And finally, we arrive at the closing pages of this lively journey. The vibrant world folds it
