目黒の坂の途中にある和食割烹店です。ここでは聚楽土という和の素材を用いて空間全体を丁寧に包み込んでいくことを試みました。鉄筋コンクリート造の既存の梁をなぞるようにゆっくりと、そして大きく格子を描いていきます。躯体を荒々しく見せるのでも、仕上げで覆い尽くしてしまうのでもなく、ある抽象度を保ちながらその両者を共存させることによって、自然なかたちで奥行きのある空間を立ち上げていきます。芯材としてスチールの角スタッドを用い、土という素材を頭の上まで引き上げ編み込むことで、素材や構造スパンから来る重量感、床、壁、天井といった建築の構成が溶け始め、空間にやわらかさという質がもたらされます。
こうして訪れた人が家にいるような温かさをここに感じてくれることを期待しています。
This is a Japanese-style restaurant halfway up a hill at Meguro. We tried to wrap the whole space carefully using a Japanese style material. The large lattice is drawn slowly tracing the existing concrete beams. In order to not show the raw building frame, we paid very close attention to all the finishing touches. The space has kept its abstraction, which creates a space with depth and expanse naturally. The steel studs work as the core, drawing up and knitting over head. This helps soften the massive feeling from the materials, the structural span, and the architectural composition such as the floor, wall, and ceiling.
We expect visitors feel the warmth of home here.
