まちを動かしていく家

今まで世界中のいろいろな町を訪ねてきました。どの町にも独自の文化があって、歴史があって、人がいて、そして必ず家がある。人は家に住むのと同じくらい、いやもしかするとそれ以上に町を選んでいる。

だから町がもっと好きになる、家が町そのもののような、そんな家を作りたいと思っています。その土地の素材で立ち上がり、その土地の光と風を取り込んで呼吸し、その土地の産業や文化を引き継いで町の背中を押していく。少し先の未来を描く、そんな家、そんな町に住みたいと思うのです。

The house triggering the city

I have visited many towns and cities around the world. Every place has its own culture, its own history, its people, and, inevitably, its homes. People choose the town they live in just as much as they choose their home—perhaps even more so.

That is why I want to create houses that make people love their towns even more, houses that feel as though they are part of the town itself.

A house that takes shape from the materials of its place, breathes with the local light and wind, carries forward the industries and cultures rooted in the land, and gently encourages the town to move forward.

I want to live in a house, and in a town, that envisions a future just a little beyond the present.
